 Cycling Time Trials

Mersey Tri club have registered with the cycling time trials association (CTT).

https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/ You can now sign up for any time trial in the UK and compete as a MerseyTri member. Most time trials take place at the weekend and are usually priced around £11 for entry. The season runs late March to late September.

You will need to register with the CTTC (free to do so) and choose Mersey Tri as your first claim club, this will then allow you to enter races through the website, we have a lot of members that are also part of cycling clubs and it would be great to get more people out racing in Mersey Tri colours this year.

You can access a full list of events for the entire country here https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/find-events remember that the local courses can be filtered as Liverpool (D) courses. To qualify for any of the LTTCA competitions your time must be registered on a D course.

We will be competing in the Liverpool Time Trials Competition (LTTCA) facebook found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1721581874649331/.

We will also be competing in the women’s division as part of the Merseyside Ladies Cycling Association (MLCA) with similar prizes and trophies available for any women in the club, facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/757572184317197/.

Each 10, 25,50 and 100 mile TT has team prizes (fastest 3 members of each club out of whoever races), it’d be great if we could compete in a few more of these as a team.

There are two individual competitions available to compete in over the course of the season, the middle distance competition (complete a 10, 25 and 50 mile time trial) and the BAR competition which also requires you to complete a 100 mile time trial and the 12 hour time trial (this is not for the feint hearted!).

Competing in the middle distance competition places you in a league table style format that you can move up and down based on your average across the 3 distances (slightly more complicated maths involved here). Your best times for each distance are used as your qualifying times to move up and down the league table.
